A protect bonus improves Armor Class which is granted by a shield or by a spell or magic influence that mimics a defend. Shield bonuses stack with all other bonuses to AC except other defend bonuses. A magic shield normally grants an improvement reward into the protect's shield bonus, which has the outcome of increasing the defend's General bonus t
